Finally, I have a website

Which I have designed on my own

· General Thoughts

One would think that getting a website done, in this day and age, would be a cakewalk. It was not for me. I had always struggled with technology, while trying to excel in law. I remember my very first tryst with website building was almost a decade ago, and the experience was terrible. I was at the mercy of a freelancer, who would not be accessible, would always mess up spellings and grammar despite being given written material, would take ages to modify or update content, and charged me endlessly for the smallest of requests, and most terribly refused to let me own my website as he reatined all controls (what is called- source code or some such thing).

I was so scarred by the whole experience that it took me another few years- before I got conned again. This time another freelancer ripped me off by assuring me that he will not rip me off. He convinced me to buy a fancy, flashy domain (not name, but style, something called a B Meta or Beta or something like that), and I remember paying through my nose, handsomely. I gave him a lot of content, and for some reason or the other they never came up on the website. The website stayed blank forever.

Then, I was lured by Google to create a free website, which I did. But being a Lawyer, I hated the fact that I could be reviewed by not just my clients, but just about anybody, inclduing those who have never availed of my professional services. It was a basic site, and I loved the fact that I could do it all on my own, but I hated the fact that I was being rated. And then one day, one of the 'prospective' clients, one who is not yet a client, and one who had already made me do a lot of work for free, threatened to post a dirty review if I did not continue to do some more of that free work. That day I shut down the Google website.

Ane then here I am. 28 July 2022, a Thursday, around 16:16 hours, writing this blog entry on this website, which just went live around 15 minutes or so ago.

I have no idea who is going to be visiting here. But I consider this more to be my own space, my domain, than a public place! Which means whatever I write here, will be straight from the heart, original stuff, and therefore likely to be fun for others to read too.
